This video presents Can Vegetarians eat eggs?
A vegetarian diet is defined as a regimen in which people abstain from eating meat, fish and poultry. Some of them may avoid meat and fish in any form, including dishes made with chicken stock, cheese made with animal rennet, foods made with fish sauce and candies or sweets made with gelatin. Other animal products, like milk, honey and eggs, fall within a vegetarian diet for many people.
So it’s important to understand different types of vegetarians.
-Flexitarian or Semi-Vegetarian
-Pescatarian
-Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian
-Vegan
Eggs Come From Chickens, How Can They Be Vegetarian?
The first explanation is that hens and other female fowl can lay both fertilized and unfertilized eggs. Some vegetarians have ethical issues with eating eggs because they believe that this destroys a developing animal. In reality, this is true only of fertilized eggs.On the other hand, going vegan is to avoid consuming slaughtered animals and chickens don’t have to die to lay eggs, so eating them is ok for vegetarians. But the ugly truth is that they do, unless you are buying eggs from your next door neighbor.
So Should I Eat Eggs If I’m a Vegetarian?
Whether eggs are vegetarian or not depends on the way people think. If you want to be kind to animals, going vegan is a good move. If you’re eating vegetarian for your health, you may want to reduce the number of eggs you eat.
